The five-step routine
After each use, or every few weeks for a display-only doll:
- Remove the wig and any clothing; detach the head if your model allows it.
- Wash the body with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap.
- Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a lint-free microfibre towel — never rub painted areas.
- Air-dry fully, especially in creases and any internal cavities.
- Optionally dust lightly with a silicone-safe renewal powder to keep the skin silky.
What never to use
Steer clear of alcohol-based cleaners, acetone, oil-based lotions and silicone-based lubricants — putting silicone products on silicone skin can soften or degrade the surface. Water-based products are the safe default every time.
Storage and posing
Store your doll lying flat on a soft surface, or hanging from a neck-bolt hook kit, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Don't leave it posed in extreme positions for long stretches; return joints to neutral to ease the strain on the silicone. Heavy dolls should be lifted with two hands under the torso, never by the arms.
Small fixes you can do yourself
Minor scuffs and small tears can usually be sorted at home with a silicone repair adhesive. Our repair guide walks through the process.
